Defying Gravity is a multi-nationally produced space travel television science fiction drama series which first aired on August 2, 2009 on ABC and CTV and was canceled in the autumn of 2009. Set in the year 2052, the series follows eight astronauts from four countries on a six-year space mission through the Solar System, during which they are monitored from Earth via a real-time communication system. The series was pitched to networks as "Grey's Anatomy in space". Thirteen episodes of the series were produced before it was cancelled, only eight of which were shown on ABC, though the full run was shown in other countries or online.
Talang Sverige, formerly named Talang between 2007–2011, is the Swedish version of the Got Talent series show where singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other performers compete against each other for audience support and the prize money. The show was broadcast for five seasons on TV4, between 2007–2011, before TV4 put the show on indefinite hiatus. Two years later, on June 19, 2013, TV3 announced that they had acquired the rights for the show and will re-launch the show in Spring 2014 under the name "Talang Sverige".

Dwayne Johnson hosted this awards show which lasted for more than one and half hours. Voting commenced on March 2, 2009. Performers and presenters have been listed at the official site. The Jonas Brothers sang their song, Lovebug, but changed the line "catch this lovebug again" to "catch this slime time again". By the end of the program, they were named the "slime gods". According to Nickelodeon, the show was broadcast in more than "228 million households across Nickelodeon's 50 channels in Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Latin America." It had 7.7 million viewers. More votes than ever were cast for this year’s KCAs. A record 91.1 million votes were cast on Nickelodeon websites. Prior to the live telecast, Lily Collins, Pick Boy and JJ hosted the "orange carpet", featuring celebrity interviews and a live performance by Miranda Cosgrove outside Pauley Pavilion.
Star Awards 2009 was a television award ceremony held in Singapore. It was part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for its Chinese language division. Star Awards 2009 was telecasted 'LIVE' on Channel 8, 26 April 2009 at 1900 hrs, where the results were announced. A post show party was held after the awards ceremony and telecasted on Channel U at 2200hrs. President Sellapan Ramanathan and Acting Minister of Information, Communications and the Arts Lui Tuck Yew were present for the awards ceremony. The nomination lists for the main categories were announced on 24 February 2009. Nominations for the popularity awards were announced on 27 March 2009. Unlike previous years, most technical category awards were presented at the actual ceremony. The Best Info-Ed Programme Host award was introduced to recognise infotainment show hosts. This is the first Star Awards to be held in April and will recognise achievements from the year 2008.
