The Last Winter 2006

In the Arctic region of Northern Alaska, an oil company's advance team struggles to establish a drilling base that will forever alter the pristine land. After one team member is found dead, a disorientation slowly claims the sanity of the others as each of them succumbs to a mysterious fear.

The snowy wilds of remote northern Manitoba make for a stirringly picturesque backdrop for footage of the rugged but irresistibly cute Qimmiq, not to mention the polar bears who occasionally amble by. Doing their best to make an impact among such furry scene stealers are the crustily ornery Ladoon and his unflappably laid-back younger Kiwi assistant, former teen-TV pinup Caleb Ross.

Winter 2015

After the success of 2014’s TV movie The Killing Field, Rebecca Gibney returns to the screen as Detective Sergeant Eve Winter in Seven’s new series Winter. Peter O’Brien will reprise his role as Detective Inspector Lachlan McKenzie. The series will premiere Wednesday 4 February 2015 @ 9.00pm and as it begins Eve Winter and her task force must solve the chilling murder of 23-year old mother Karly at a hauntingly beautiful fishing town south of Sydney.

Winter Sonata 2002

Winter Sonata is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 in 2002. The second part of the season-themed Endless Love series directed by Yoon Seok-ho, it stars Bae Yong-joon and Choi Ji-woo. Filming primarily took place on the resort island of Namiseom and Seoul. It is widely considered to be the Korean drama that launched the Korean Wave throughout Asia and worldwide. It has also been adapted into an anime series, and a stage musical.

The Lion in Winter 2004

The Lion in Winter is a 2003 made-for-television remake of the 1968 film of the same name. The remake was first shown on December 26, 2003 in the U.K. and premiered on U.S. television on May 26, 2004. It starred Patrick Stewart and Glenn Close, and was directed by Andrei Konchalovsky. It was filmed on location at Spiš Castle in eastern Slovakia. Andrew Howard, John Light, and Rafe Spall played the warring brothers. Jonathan Rhys Meyers played the king of France and Julia Vysotskaya, his sister and Henry's mistress, Princess Alais.

Winter Steele

Winter Steele was a puppet television series created by Cintra Wilson that aired on MTV as a segment of Liquid Television during its first two seasons, 1991-1993. Wilson wrote the series, created the puppets, did the voice of the main character and even did some live action body double work. Winter Steele is depicted as a female biker who is in hot pursuit of her childhood friend, lover and sometime nemesis David "Crow" Dickerson, himself a biker. The two met as children in a repressive orphanage and bonded. Separated, the two vowed to find each other, with Winter criss-crossing the land on a motorcycle. In this course Winter breaks many laws - robbing a crossdresser at gunpoint, credit card fraud, etc. As it transpires, Crow is also despreately looking for Winter, he has gotten a career as a stunt performer a la Evel Knievel and a cape he uses in his act bears the inscription "Winter, where are you?" At one point Winter even meets up with Crow's mother, who abandoned her son to an orphanage. Asked if she regretted sending Crow there, she tersely replies "Hell no!" Winter eventually learns of Crow's career as a daredeveil, but despairs of reaching him when she can't get his attention at a show. Defeated, Winter attempts suicide by immolation, wrecking her motorcycle, tearing off her clothes and setting them on fire. She is stopped when a private detective hired by Crow recognizes her. But before he can bring her to Crow, he sees Winter's burnt belongings and assumes she has committed suicide. He attempts suicide himself by ramming his chopper into a brick wall, but though seriously injured he is not killed. Winter finally catches up with Crow at the intensive care unit at the hospital, but is taken away by the police on various charges before she can stay long. After the police have taken her away, we see Crow raise a thumb towards Winter.

Winter Kill

Winter Kill is a 1974 U.S. made-for-tv movie directed by Jud Taylor and written by John Michael Hayes and David Karp. It stars Andy Griffith as Sam McNeill, the sheriff in a small resort town in the mountains of northern California. The film is mystery-suspense drama about McNeill's attempts to solve a string of local serial killings linked by messages left at the scenes of the crimes. Nick Nolte played the role of Dave Michaels. The movie was intended as a series pilot. When it failed to sell, the main character was renamed and used as the lead character for the short-lived 1975 series Adams of Eagle Lake, also starring Andy Griffith. The film was released on DVD by Warner Bros. in 2009 along with Griffith's 1977 TV movie Deadly Game, making it one of the few of Griffith's TV movies from the 1970s to have an official DVD release.

Winter Sakura 2011

"Fuyu no Sakura" is described as a pure love story with similarities to the popular Korean drama "Winter Sonata" (titled "Fuyu no Sonata" in Japan). Kusanagi plays a gentle glass craftsman in Yamagata who has no experience in love. Imai plays an older housewife with a husband and daughter who goes on a trip alone to Yamagata, hoping to see sakura trees blooming in winter. She gets into an accident, but is saved by Kusanagi. He ends up tending to her, and the two are soon drawn to each other.
