Royal Rumble (1998) was the eleventh annual Royal Rumble. It was presented by MCI's 1-800-COLLECT, and took place on January 18, 1998 at the San Jose Arena in San Jose, California. The main event was a casket match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker for the WWF Championship. The main matches on the undercard were the Royal Rumble match, The Legion Of Doom (Hawk and Animal) versus The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) for the WWF Tag Team Championship, and The Rock versus Ken Shamrock for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
Survivor Series (1998) was the twelfth annual Survivor Series. It was presented by Nestlé Crunch and took place on November 15, 1998 at the Kiel Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Fourteen matches were scheduled on the event's card, a noticeably higher number than most pay-per-view events because the main focus of the card was a tournament for the vacant WWF Championship titled Deadly Game. It was the first tournament held with the WWF Championship on the line in ten years, the last being at WrestleMania IV. Aside from the tournament, two other championship matches occurred: the first defense of the WWF Women's Championship since it had been reactivated and a triple threat tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship. This event was also the first Survivor Series not to feature the traditional Survivor Series elimination-style tag team match.

Diamond Dallas Page defended the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Raven in a Raven's Rules match, Hollywood Hogan & Kevin Nash wrestled Roddy Piper & The Giant in a Baseball Bat on a Pole match, La Parka faced Psychosis, Rick Steiner & Lex Luger teamed up against Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell, Chris Jericho defended the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Prince Iaukea, Curt Hennig was matched against The British Bulldog, Booker T defended the WCW World Television Championship against Chris Benoit, Ultimo Dragon squared off against Chavo Guerrero, Jr., and Goldberg's streak was on the line against Saturn.
King of the Ring (1998) was the sixth annual King of the Ring. It was presented by Super Soaker and took place on June 28, 1998 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. The main event was a First Blood match featuring Kane vs Steve Austin for the WWF Championship. The other main match was a Hell in a Cell match featuring The Undertaker defeating Mankind. Featured matches on the undercard included the KOTR tournament final between Ken Shamrock and The Rock, with the winner to receive a Tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship between the New Age Outlaws and The New Midnight Express. This event produced the most famous Hell in a Cell match of all time, pitting The Undertaker against Mankind. Less than two minutes into the match, The Undertaker threw Mankind from the top of the 16' high cell through the Spanish announcers table. A few minutes later in the match in another memorable moment, The Undertaker chokeslammed Mankind through the top of the cell.
The 1998 AFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the Adelaide Crows and the North Melbourne Kangaroos, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on 26 September 1998. It was the 102nd annual Grand Final of the Australian Football League (formerly the Victorian Football League), staged to determine the premiers for the 1998 AFL season. The match, attended by 94,431 spectators, was won by Adelaide by a margin of 35 points marking that club's second consecutive premiership victory, and second premiership overall.

Under card matches that night included Scott Hall vs Konnan, Dean Malenko vs Curt Hennig, Raven vs Saturn (again...) in (another) Raven's Rules match, Juventud Guerrera defending the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Silver King, Rick Steiner vs Scott Steiner (a match held over from Road Wild), Norman Smiley vs Ernest Miller, Chris Jericho defending the WCW World Television Championship against a Goldberg impersonator, and The Dancing Fools against The British Bulldog & Jim Neidhart.
The French team —on home soil— was always going to be in contention for the title of World Champion. It did not disappoint its fans. France '98 was not short on drama or controversy, in equal measure and this is captured most effectively on this film. The most recent name and format was adopted in 2009, but since 2011, the UK representation has been selected internally, resulting in Your Country Needs You being suspended.
